Open to all ages, this event is the perfect way to dive into eerie local stories whil♛e exploring the beautiful fall scenery.
The tour begins at 24 Cemetery Road, Great Meadows, NJ, 07838. From there, you’ll drive through a 57-mile route that winds through Warren, Sussex, Morris, and Passaic Counties. Along the way, you’ll visit places like the infamous Shades of Death Road, Clinton Road, and Lake Hopatcong. There’s even a stop at the historic Waterloo Village in Stanhope, where you can take a break, enjoy the autumn foliage, and learn about this restored canal town.
Tickets cost $35, and all proceeds go to the New Jersey Highlands Coalition, a nonprofit group working to protect the area’s natural and cultural resources. Your ticket purchase includes a 12-page PDF Tour Packet, which provides turn-by-turn directions and fascinating details about the places you’ll visit. Please allow two business days for your packet to be emailed to you. To safely complete the tour, you’ll need at least two people in the car: one to drive and another to navigate and read the guide.
The event officially starts at 11:58 PM, with doors opening at the same time. Although the event technically lasts one minute, the driving tour can be completed at your own pace, allowing you and your🍌 companions to enjoy the experience as you like. Keep in mind that there’s no parking available at the starting location, so plan accordingly.
