Quiet Neighborhood Shaken by a High-Speed Chase
Orangetown, a normally calm suburb outside New York City, was jolted awake by screeching tires and a loud crash🎀.
The chase began earlier that night in Closter, New Jersey when police were called to a home on Kennedy Circle for a reported burglary.
Upon arrival, officers spotted a gray BMW wi🌠th a Pennsylvania♊ license plate speeding away.
The car al🗹most collided with a police cruiser before heading toward the New York border. Despite efforts to stop the vehicle, the driver continued to evade capture, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
High-Speed Chase Leads to Car Accident in New Jersey, Ends at NY Border
As the car sped into New York, things 🔜took a dangerous turn. Near the intersection of Route 340 and Oܫak Tree Road in Rockland County, the driver lost control.
The car slammed into a tree, fli🧸pped over, and trapped the driver inside. The two passengers managed to escape the wreck and ran into nearby properties.
First responders, including firefighters and paramedics, rushe🧔d to the scene. They managed to pull the driver,﷽ identified as Christian Ochoa Moreno from Queens, out of the wrecked car.
He was seriously injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center. During all this, he was kept under police watch since h✨e waꦍs facing some serious charges.
The Search for the Escaped Suspects and What’s Next
While Moreno was being treated, police searched for the other two sꦆuspects who had ru🌊n away.
Officers from muಌltiple nearby towns joined the search, but the suspects are still on the loose. Thus, Closter police are worki🐼ng hard to figure out who these guys are and catch them.
Moreno, now in custody, was tak𓄧en to Rockland County Jail.
At the moment, he’s wai𒀰ting to🐷 be sent back to New Jersey, where he’ll face several charges, including eluding arrest, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit theft, and possession of burglary tools.
